4 Reasons Why I Always Celebrate Galentine’s Day
Galentine’s Day is always a good idea.
I love L-O-V-E! February is a month to celebrate love and affection -both romantic or platonic. For the past few years, I have prioritized hosting and/or attending a Galentine’s Day event bc #sisterhood is important and deserves to be celebrated. This year my youngest sister (hey Eve!) hosted a self-care inspired Sip n’ Paint! So grab your favorite cup of tea (or something stronger) and join me as I share four reasons why I love to celebrate Galentine’s Day. <3

Love 〰️ Sisterhood 〰️ Self Care 〰️
#1 - Planning a girl’s night is fun!
I love event planning - specifically seeing my vision come alive and executed perfectly. My sisters and I have event planning down to a science and we genuinely love planning events and hosting our friends and family. Valentine’s Day is always marketed towards couples, so I love the idea of planning something for the ladies regardless of our relationship status. Eve’s Sip n’ Paint was a perfect mix between love + laughter with a nice self care paint session. We drank, we sung and we laughed a lot!
#2 - Self-care is self-love.
Taking care of yourself shouldn’t be limited to holidays or special moments. Routine self-care = self love because your mental and emotional health is just as important as your physical health. The Sip n’ Paint opened with a reminder from Eve about the importance of loving yourself and carving out dedicated time to prioritize self-care. I don’t know about you, but I need the reminder every once in a while. I definitely want to do a post on my fave self-care rituals. #comingsoon
#3 - Sisterhood heals.
I am blessed to have sisters, line sisters, sister friends, cousins, aunties and a great mom! The women in my life remind me of why sisterhood is important and why we always need to celebrate each other. Galentine’s Day is a great reason to get together with the girls and have a great time filled with positivity and fun memories. In addition to painting, we had an impromptu karaoke session and you already know we pull out the 00s throwbacks. Are you really a girl if you can’t recite all the lyrics to Love by Keyshia Cole? LOL! Just know my neighbors got a free show.
#4 Every girl deserved a reason to dress up!
Reason #4 and #3 go hand in hand. My sisters and I always quote our dad - his favorite motto is “if you dress good, look good and smell good, you will feel good”. I used to think he was being superficial but the man is on to something. Even if I am having the worst day, dressing up and taking care of my self makes me feel better. I love that Galentine’s Day is another reason to get cute and go out with the girls! Even if you aren’t in a relationship or have a date planned, you can still get dressed up for a girl’s night. With the amount of clothes and makeup I have, I will take any reason to dress up and go out.
